    • Hemp is so green it has actually been used as a carbon-negative crop.

Our hanger is made of 100% bamboo, which is a much more sustainable resource than wood, and it’s just as strong. Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on Earth, and is grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers which does not not cause harm to the environment.

  • Do you have any color swatches?

We understand it can be difficult determining your perfect color match from a computer screen. Screens will vary slightly in color and you may think that you're a close match between both Dark Brown and Chocolate Brown. If only you could see the two colors in person to feel absolutely confident with your purchase!

We're now happy to offer a maximum of two complimentary color sample swatches to our customers within the U.S. and Canada. Dreams do come true.

If you place an order for a sample swatch, you will receive a small lock of hair that is dyed perfectly to reflect the colors we offer in our full sets. Kindly note, these swatches should be used for color comparison purposes only and are not offered in Classic or Seamless as the base of the weft is not included.

If you are interested in sampling a couple of our swatches, please email us at info@luxyhair.com and we will pass along our unique link to shop.

To interested customers who live internationally, kindly note that all Luxies come with a tester weft available in the bottom compartment of the box. This weft can be used to determine whether or not the shade is the right match for you. If it's not an ideal match, we're more than happy to accommodate a return or exchange on unopened items.

Also, we're happy to help you select your ideal Luxy match. Please send over some photos of your hair taken in natural lighting where we can see it fully to info@luxyhair.com, similar to the photo below.

Meanwhile, if you haven't already, we suggest to watch our video below on how to select your perfect Luxy shade, which we believe you will find very helpful.

  • I have short hair. Which set should I pick?

Clip-in hair extensions are a great resource for short haired ladies who either got a haircut they regret, have difficulty growing out their own natural hair, or just want to have the option to rock both long and short hair whenever they want.

As a kind reminder, we recommend for your hair to be at least 6-7 inches (this is around shoulder length) in order for clip-in hair extensions to blend naturally. If your hair is any shorter, you may experience some trouble with hiding the wefts in your hair.

So, which set should I pick?

Which set you opt for will largely depend on your hair thickness, however, generally speaking we always recommend to opt for one of our heavier sets. Why? This will help ensure that there are enough wefts and hair to create a seamless and natural transition where your real hair ends and the extensions begin. Otherwise, opting for a set too lightweight will result in the extensions appearing stringy or unnatural looking – like below. This is, arguably, every girl's nightmare.

If you have short and fine hair...

If you have short and fine hair (both in strands and in amount) you should opt for:

If you have short and medium/thick hair...

If you have short and medium to thick hair (this includes those who have fine hair strands but a lot of them) you should opt for:

Naturally, those with short hair will have to put in a bit more work in order to have their extensions blend in naturally than say, someone with long hair who is simply looking for volume over length. A big misconception a lot of our short-haired customers have is that they can simply clip in their Luxies straight out of the box and it will look natural. While some ladies can pull this off, we typically have to remind our short-haired customers that they will have to put in a bit of work to ensure their extensions look as natural as possible.

How, you ask? We'll share a few of our tips and tricks that have worked best for many of our short-haired customers.

If you're a visual learner, check out Milana's video below where she shows how to clip in, trim and layer her 220g Ash Blonde Luxy Hair extensions which she's had custom-toned to match her hair color perfectly.

    • Trim and/or layer your extensions. While it may seem like a waste to cut off hair that you've purchased, it is so important to achieving that natural flow so it's not obvious where your real hair ends and the extensions begin. We also recommend to have the extensions cut by an experienced hair stylist while the set is in your hair. It will also be helpful for you to number the wefts so you know exactly which weft goes where.
    • Pick the right color of hair extensions. Well, obviously! Ok, ok – the reason we have this point in here is mostly for the ladies out there who are rocking an ombre or balayage trend. If you have multiple different shades in your hair, it's best to opt for a color that matches the ends of your hair. Even if you have a darker root color, majority of the wefts will be applied at the crown of your head. So, if you have blonde ends and you're eyeing our Ombre Blonde shade because you too also have dark roots – our Dirty Blonde shade may actually be a better fit. Not sure? Email our Support team at info@luxyhair.com. We're here to help.
    • Curl your extensions into your hair. This is a great hack. Taking small sections of your extensions and combining them with a section from your own hair and curling them together will help blur that line differentiating your hair from the extensions. Here we have a great selection of tutorials on different techniques of curling your hair and extensions.
  • How do I choose the right color of hair extensions?

Luxy Hair extensions are offered in 15 beautiful shades ranging from Jet Black to Platinum Blonde, and from Ombre to Balayage. Our extensions are made with a multi-tonal adapt coloring system, which means that there are subtle highlights and lowlights, lighter strands and darker strands throughout each set. This gives the shades movement, dimension, and depth. It also ensures that the extensions blend with your natural hair even if your hair color is a few shades off.

Feel free to watch the video below on how to pick your perfect Luxy shade, or keep scrolling down for a breakdown of each color group.

To determine the right match for you, start off by figuring out which group you fall in. Then, by reading and reviewing the difference in shades, you can choose which color will be the best fit for your hair.

  • How do I choose between the 120g, 160g, 180g, and 220g set?

When choosing your ideal Luxy weight, it's important to opt for a set that best matches your hair type, and not necessarily the type of hair you want to have. One misconception we often come across with customers that can sometimes lead to a wrong set being purchased is:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

"I have thin hair and I want really thick hair, so I should opt for the 220 gram set, right?"
"I have thick hair and I want more length than volume – is 120 grams good for me?"

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

The answer to both is no. And we'll explain why below.

    120 Gram Classic Set

    About

Our 120 gram Classic set is our thinnest set and is ideal for fine and fragile hair types.

It comes with a total of 9 wefts, which is one less four clip weft than our other sets (this is the only set that comes with a total of 9 wefts). 1 x 8" weft, 2 x 6" wefts, 2 x 4"wefts, 4 x 1" wefts, as shown in the image below.

    120g Classic Luxy Hair Extensions

This is an ideal set for you if

    • You have a small amount of hair and
    • Your hair strands are fine and
    • Your hair is below shoulder length (medium to long hair) and
    • You are looking to add some volume and length

You may be able to tell from above that the key word here is "and". The reason why we emphasize this is because if you fit all of the above points, our 120 gram Classic set is ideal for you. If, for example, you have fine hair strands but a lot of them, you will need to consider a heavier weight. Or, if you have above shoulder length (short) hair, you will also need to consider a heavier weight.

    Luxy Hair Clip-In Extensions

    160 Gram Classic Set

    About

Our 160 gram Classic set is a medium-thickness set and is ideal for thin to average hair types.

But wait, didn't you say that the 120 gram set was ideal for thin hair types? Good catch—we'll be happy to explain why shortly.

In the meantime, this set comes with a total of 10 wefts, which is one more four clip weft than our 120 gram set. The difference in each set is not only the extra weft, but also that there is more hair attached to each weft. The hair strand thickness itself will remain the same.

    Our 160 gram set includes the following 10 wefts: 1 x 8" weft, 1 x 7" weft, 2 x 6" wefts, 2 x 4"wefts, 4 x 1" wefts, as shown in the image below.

    Luxy Hair Clip-In Extensions

This is an ideal set for you if you have

    Average Hair

    • You have an average amount of hair
      • If you have thin hair strands but a lot of them, this set is recommended
    • You want extra length and volume while still maintaining a natural look

    Luxy Hair Clip-In Extensions

    Thin Hair

    • If you have thin and short hair, this set is recommended
      • Short hair = above shoulder length up to chin length
      • Why? Because you will need the extra hair and wefts to achieve a natural transition where your real hair ends and the extensions begin. If you choose a set that is too thin for your hair, the ends will look stringy and unnatural

The photo below is of our beautiful customer, Abii Carter, who has naturally short and fine hair and who chose our 160g Ash Blonde set to create the perfect blend to her short hair.

    Luxy Hair Clip-In Extensions

    180 Gram Seamless Set

    About

Our 180 gram Seamless set is an additional option for those who are considering our 160 gram Classic set. Our Seamless set is a medium-thickness set and is ideal for thin to average hair types.

Similar to our 160 gram Luxies, this set comes with a total of 10 wefts, but has more hair attached to each weft making the full set slightly thicker than the 160 gram Classic set. The following 10 wefts are included: 1 x 8" weft, 1 x 7" weft, 2 x 6" wefts, 2 x 4"wefts, 4 x 1" wefts, as shown in the image below.

So, what's the difference then? The biggest difference between our Classic and Seamless extensions is how the wefts are manufactured. Our Seamless extensions are made with a thin silicone base which is 50% thinner than our Classic fabric-stitched wefts. This means the wefts are more flexible and easily hidden within the hair.

    Luxy Hair Clip-In Extensions

This is an ideal set for you if you have

    Average Hair

    • You have an average amount of hair
      • If you have thin hair strands but a lot of them, this set is recommended
    • You want extra length and volume while still maintaining a natural look

    Thin Hair

    • If you have thin and short hair, this set is recommended
      • Short hair = above shoulder length up to chin length
      • Why? Because you will need the extra hair and wefts to achieve a natural transition where your real hair ends and the extensions begin

    220 Gram Classic Set

    About

Our 220 gram Classic set is our thickest set and is ideal for medium and thick hair types.

But wait, didn't you just say before that the 160g set is best for medium hair types? Which one is it! Noted—we'll clarify this in one moment.

Similar to our 160 gram set, our 220 gram set comes with a total of 10 wefts. As a reminder, this is the same number of wefts as our 160 gram set, and one more four clip weft than our 120 gram set.

The difference between this set and our 160 gram set is that our 220 gram set will have more hair attached to each 10 wefts making it thicker and fuller. The hair strand thickness itself will remain the same.

    Our 220 gram set includes the following 10 wefts: 1 x 8" weft, 1 x 7" weft, 2 x 6" wefts, 2 x 4"wefts, 4 x 1" wefts, as shown in the image below.

    Luxy Hair Clip-In Extensions

This is an ideal set for you if you have

    Medium Hair

    • You have medium hair but want an extra voluminous look (or at the least want the option—you can wear the full set for lots of volume or take out a few of the wefts for a more natural look)

    Thick Hair

    • You have a lot of hair
    • You have thick hair and want length
    • Again, it is important to match the set to your hair type. Even if you aren't necessarily looking to add more volume to your already thick hair, choosing a set that is too thin will result in an unnatural blend with stringy and thin ends.

    Luxy Hair Clip-In Extensions

    Short Hair

    • You have a lob or a blunt haircut
    • You have shoulder length or shorter hair that is medium/thick
    • As before, the reason for this is to ensure that there is enough hair and wefts to create the seamless transition from where your short hair ends to where the extensions begin.

Need a recap? Watch our video below on How To Choose The Right Thickness Of Luxy Hair Extensions.

Still not sure? We're here to help! Email our Support team at info@luxyhair.com with a photo of your hair and we'll be happy to help you determine which weight is perfect for you.

  • Are seamless extensions water resistant?
Yes, seamless extensions are water resistant. If your set is coming in contact with water for a long period of time (for example, during wash) it is best to let the hair soak in water for no longer than 20-30 seconds. This is because over time, water may seep into the base cavities where the hair comes from, which can make it difficult to dry out because silicone is not as breathable as having a fabric base.
  • Do seamless extensions shed less than our regular extensions?

Luxy Hair clip-in extensions, regular or seamless, rarely experience shedding. While the base of our seamless sets are thinner, they do not shed any more because of this.

The type of care that is put into your extensions will affect how much it sheds. With proper care, shedding will be virtually non-existent. You can minimize shedding by maintaining your Luxies and gently brushing them before and after each use. To learn how to properly brush hair extensions, please watch the helpful tutorial we created below.

  • What temperature can seamless extensions be styled at? Does heat damage the base of the weft?

When styling your seamless extensions with high heat, we recommend to set your tool at 80C/176F degrees or lower. Anything higher may run the risk of damaging the hair, as with any other clip-in extensions. This is because the hair is not being revitalized at the scalp like our own hair is, and over time excessive heat and high temperatures may cause wear and tear to your set, and could potentially loosen the silicone bond with the hair. Generally speaking, heat will not damage the base of the weft unless it is very high.

One of the best thing about our extensions? They don’t need to be styled at a high heat temperature any way to see results. Our extensions will curl and straighten with ease using low heat.

  • Are there any special care instructions for seamless extensions?

Just like any set of clip-in extensions (seamless or regular), we advise you to care for your Luxies with love. Watch the video below for our top tips on how to care for your extensions to ensure they live a long and happy life.

With your seamless set, we recommend to be more gentle while handling the clips because they are stitched onto the silicone base directly. We advise against pulling or pressing the clips with strong force, as it may eventually cause damage to your set.

As with our regular sets, seamless hair extensions can be washed using warm water and shampoo and conditioner.

  • Where does the hair come from?

All of our hair is sourced and manufactured in China. We source our hair straight from verified distributors, who depend on their long-standing reputation for ethical sourcing and quality hair.

We only choose to work with companies where workers are satisfied and happy to be apart of the team. Luxy facilities employ working age staff (mostly middle age women and men) who get a proper salary, normal working hours, weekends off, and holiday leave.

Also, all of our hair is donated, sold, or exchanged fairly. For example, some of our hair is obtained from temples, where hair is a form of donation and a source of revenue for the monastery/ temple for its own expenses and projects. Therefore, it's a from of meritorious deed for the donor, same as donating money or food. We also obtain our hair from many hair salons, who choose to sell their hair instead of throwing it away into the waste stream.

  • Can I have Luxies sewn in to my hair?

We do not recommend to have Luxies sewn in to your hair because wearing your Luxies while sleeping and constantly having them washed are just a couple of factors that will deteriorate your set quicker. We recommend to always clip out your Luxies each night before bed, and to wash them separately.

  • Do you sell wefts separately?

All Luxy Hair extensions come in a full head set and we therefore do not have individual wefts available for sale at this time.

  • Do you offer curly or wavy hair extensions?

No, we do not offer curly or wavy hair extensions at this time. This is because Luxy Hair extensions are of Chinese origin, which means they naturally come straight, smooth, and shiny.

    Luxy Hair Clip-In Extensions

Since they are made of 100% remy human hair, however, they can be styled to curls or waves using hot tools to match your own hair’s texture.

Our beautiful friend, India, shows in the tutorial below how to blend in Luxy Hair extensions to match her curly hair texture.

    The Heat-Free Method

    1. Dampen your clip-in Luxy Hair extensions with water, or a mixture similar to what India uses which has castor oil, rosemary oil, and water combined. You can also use a sea salt mixture if you have really textured or course hair - this will help roughen up the extensions a bit.

    2. Braid the hair in a simple three strand braid. If you have 2A/2B waves, make bigger braids. If you have 3C/4A/4B curls, make really tight, small braids. As most curly-haired girls have multiple curl patterns through their hair, India recommends to use different sized braids on your extensions as this will help make the final result look more natural.

How to Blend in Extensions with Curly Hair

    3. Let your Luxies dry overnight, as this will help make the curls dry and settle more naturally. If you are on a tight deadline and need to expedite the process, however, you can always use a hair dryer on the braids.

    4. Once the wefts are completely dry, untie the braids and start removing the braids by using a rat tail comb. Or, you can simply use your fingers - whichever is most easiest for you.

How to Blend Extensions with Curly Hair

    The Curling Method

    1. Apply a heat protectant to your hair extensions to ensure they do not get damaged from the heat.

    2. Using a half inch curling wand, wrap small section of hair around the barrel and let it sit for around 20-30 seconds before releasing the curl. In order to ensure that the curls maintain their shape for a long period of time, cup the curl in the palm of your hand and let it cool down.

    3. Once you're finished curling a weft, rake your fingers through the curls to loosen them up to your liking. Be sure to separate them as much as you want to ensure that they match the texture of your hair perfectly.

  • What lengths do you offer?

All Luxy Hair extensions are offered in a standard 20 inch length.

When browsing photos of our lovely customers wearing Luxies, you may notice that the extensions appear longer on some people and shorter on others. This is because Luxies will appear different in length on every person, as we all have different torso lengths. If you have a longer torso or are quite tall, Luxies will appear shorter on you. If you are more petite or have a shorter torso, your Luxies will appear longer on you, as shown in the photo below.

    Luxy Hair lengths

In order to determine how long Luxies will be on you, we recommend measuring 20 inches down from the top of your ear with a measuring tape, as most wefts will be applied around the crown of your head.

What if Luxy Hair extensions are too long on me?

Since Luxies are made of 100% remy human hair, they can be cut or trimmed to any desired length by an experienced hair stylist if you are interested in a shorter length. If you decide to get them cut, we recommend having them already clipped into your hair during the haircut. We would also recommend coming up with a numbering system for the wefts, so that you know exactly where each weft is supposed to be clipped in for the future uses.

What if I want a longer length?

Luxy Hair does not offer longer lengths at this time, however, we are always open to feedback. Should you be interested in a length, colour, or other option for hair extensions that we do not carry, kindly send us an email at info@luxyhair.com, and we'll be happy to keep your suggestion in mind for future product considerations.

  • Are there any soy or nut ingredients used in the making of the hair?

No, there are no soy or nut ingredients used in the hair treatment materials used.

  • Can clip-in hair extensions cause balding or hair loss?

No, clip-in hair extensions are not capable of causing bald spots or hair loss.

The typical process for hair growth is when the follicle produces normal strands of hair that grow out over a couple of years, then shed to produce new growth. When a hair follicle is affected, however, it shrinks and becomes smaller in size, and produces hair that is finer than normal. While new hair typically stays put for a couple of years before shedding, affected hair follicles shed much quicker and grows out much slower. As a result, the follicle is not able to continue the proper hair growth life cycle, resulting in balding.

If you are experiencing balding or excessive hair loss, we recommend to consult with your doctor.

  • Are Luxies considered hypoallergenic?

Yes, Luxy Hair extensions are considered to be hypoallergenic as there is no glue or metal that will cause allergy. Please, however, check the tester weft located in the bottom compartment of the box before fully opening your set to see if you’re comfortable with the hair. This way, we can still accept your package back for a full refund if you decide it’s not a good match for you.

  • Why are there short hairs in my extensions?

The shorter hairs you see in your set are specifically applied during the manufacturing level to help those who already have layers in their hair, and to help create more dimension in the set. These additional layers make the hair in the set look more natural because we also have shorter strands of hair throughout our head because all hair sheds and grows at different rates.

  • How long do Luxy Hair extensions last?

The lifespan of Luxy Hair extensions is determined by how well they are taken care of, what products are used on them, and how often they are worn. Usually, the lifespan of Luxy Hair Extensions is 3-6 months up to a year or longer, depending on the general care they receive.

In order to keep your extensions in the best shape possible, we recommend watching the below video we have created about Care and Tips for your Luxy Hair Extensions.

  • Do hair extensions shed and tangle?

As with any clip-in hair extensions, Luxy Hair extensions will have some normal and expected hair-fallout, especially when you first receive and start using your hair extensions. Some hair fallout will continue throughout the entire lifespan of your clip-in hair extensions, which is an expected occurrence, since clip-in hair extensions are a temporary solution to long hair.

You can minimize shedding/hair-fallout, by maintaining your hair extensions with utmost care, and gently brushing them before and after each use. To learn how to properly brush hair extensions, please watch the helpful tutorial we created below.

As for tangling, just like your natural hair, hair extensions can and may tangle. When wearing Luxies, we recommend that you brush them throughout the day with a paddle brush, to keep them tangle free and smooth. For more care and tips on how to avoid tangling with both your hair and extensions, click here.

  • I have highlights/lowlights or ombre/balayage hair, which set is right for me?

For those who have a combination of shades in their hair, we always recommend going for a set that matches the lightest highlight or portion of your hair. This is because although Luxy Hair Extensions can be dyed a darker colour - we do not recommend bleaching them. Bleaching is a harmful process that can alter the quality of your set, and even damage it.

You will have to take your set to a professional hair colourist, who has had previous experience dyeing hair extensions, to have them add in lowlights or dye the roots a darker colour in order to achieve an overall match. If you do decide to get them dyed, we recommend that you test a one clip weft prior to dyeing the full set, to ensure that you are satisfied with the results.

  • How long does my own hair need to be to use clip-in hair extensions?

Although different companies suggest different lengths, we find that for best results, your hair should be about 6-7 inches in length for the extensions to blend naturally (that's somewhere in-between chin and shoulder length).

Have shorter hair and wondering how Luxies will blend? Check our our blog post here on how to blend in Luxies with short hair.

We also have a tutorial on how to clip in and blend Luxies with short/medium length hair.

  • What is the difference between synthetic and human hair extensions?

Hair extensions made from human hair can be dyed a darker colour, styled with hot tools (curled or straightened), washed frequently, and treated just like you would your own natural hair.

You can basically make your hair goals come true. Looking for some inspo? Check out our YouTube channel - we have a endless list of hair tutorials using clip-in extensions.

On the other hand, hair extensions made from synthetic hair are sensitive to the sun, are difficult to style and blend with your own hair, and typically don't have the same lifespan as human hair extensions. Human hair extensions can last up to a year or longer if they are properly cared for.

Interested in learning how to properly care and store your Luxies? We have you covered - watch the video below.

You can expect to pay anywhere from $60-$85 USD for synthetic hair extensions, and anywhere from $100-$500 USD for human hair extensions.

  • Why is remy human hair the preferred choice for hair extensions?

The quality you should look for when buying clip-in hair extensions is remy human hair. Remy hair is considered to be the finest quality of human hair available on the market today, because the cuticles are kept intact and not stripped, like in most other non-remy hair extensions. Preserving the hairs cuticles and aligning them in an unidirectional fashion creates extensions that are completely natural in appearance. This process ensures that the hair remains super soft, shiny, silky and mainly tangle-free throughout its lifetime.

Luxy Hair clip-in extensions use only the finest quality remy human hair, which means that the hair has been carefully sorted after collecting from the hair donor to ensure all the cuticles are of the same length. It is by far the best quality of clip-in human hair extensions on the market because of the care that is required and the time it takes to sort the hair so meticulously.

  • What are clip-in hair extensions and who can wear them?

Clip-in hair extensions are a quick, easy, and temporary do it yourself approach to achieving longer and fuller hair, with no long-term bonding, pain, or damage to your hair. They are easily affixed and can be perfectly matched and blended with your own hair to create length, emphasize volume, or even to add highlights to your natural hair.

Still not convinced? Read our blog post here on 6 reasons to wear hair extensions.

All clip-in hair extensions come in one or multiple pieces, which are called wefts, that will vary in width. Extensions can be clipped in and out of your hair in a matter of minutes and are practically invisible. They are by far the fastest and most affordable way to transform the look of your hair without breaking the bank or damaging your natural hair.

Don't believe it will only take a few minutes to clip in? Watch our tutorial below.

Who can wear them? Just about anyone! They are safe for men, women, and even children to wear. For anyone experiencing severe hair loss, however, we recommend you consult a doctor first prior to purchasing clip-in hair extensions to ensure it is the right resource for you.
