Ombré is a French word, which means "shadow"—it's a process that dyes the hair in a gradation from dark to light. The outcome is usually darker hair from the roots to the mid-shaft and a transition to a lighter color from the mid-shaft through to the ends. With Ombré, there is a noticeable color blocking from dark to light, with a smooth transition in between. This technique is meant to look like the hair has been dip-dyed.
How do I match my hair to the right shade?

Or try mixing both shades together!
This gives you the ability to customize the look you’re trying to achieve. This creates more of a highlighted, balayage effect, especially once the different layers of extensions are curled and twisted together. Luxy Hair extensions are dyed with a multi-tonal adapt coloring system, which means that there are subtle highlights and lowlights, lighter strands and darker strands throughout each set. This produces a multi-dimensional look, making them blend seamlessly together and effortless to layer.
Layering Ombre Chestnut with Ombre Blondeworks beautifully. Ombre Chestnut is a combination of deep browns, and lighter golden browns, which blend seamlessly with Ombre Blonde which features red, brown and golden undertones. The key when layering extensions is to ensure the sets are in the same color family and overlap in undertones for a perfect blend.
I have a solid hair color. Can I still wear Ombre?
Yes, your hair can be a solid shade! Ombre extensions are a damage-free way to add brightness to your hair color.
Will it blend if I have short hair?
Yes - we recommend that your hair is at least 9 inches or shorter and that your hair color is a solid shade from root to end. This is because the transition of the Ombre starts 9 inches down the length of each weft. If you have lighter pieces, the extensions will be noticeable and hard to blend. Will it blend if I have thick and long hair?
Yes - our Ombre extensions will look like subtle highlights in your hair instead of a noticeable color blocking at the ends. We encourage you to opt for the 220g Classic set and a Volumizer Weft if you have thick and long hair.
How far down the weft does the Ombre start?
The Ombre transition starts 9 inches from the base of the weft.
