Hair Extension Usage and Care

  • My extensions don't blend with my hair. How can I blend them in?

We're really sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulty blending in your extensions. We're here to help! We'll walk you through some key tips and tricks that will help your extensions blend in more naturally with your hair type or hair cut.

Why are my extensions not blending?

There are multiple reasons why your extensions may not be blending. One of the most important factors that we let our customers know is that everyone has a different hair type and cut. While some customers can pull off clipping in their Luxies straight out of the box and it looking fantastic, other customers may need to put in a little bit more work in order to fully customize their set to have it match their hair perfectly. For example, if you have lots of layers throughout your hair, odds are you will have to layer your extensions so that it matches in with those layers.

Why else may your extensions not be blending? We'll list a few common reasons.

    • The incorrect weight was purchased for your hair type. Interested in learning how to pick the right set for you? Check out this support article.
    • The incorrect weight was purchased for your hair length.
    • You have a unique hair cut like a lob or blunt cut.

What can I do to make them blend in better?

There are certain tips and tricks you can try depending on the scenario to help your extensions blend in more naturally with your hair. We'll break it down into categories.

    Short Hair

Short haired girls will need to put in a bit more work in order to have their extensions blend in naturally with their hair length. We'll share a few of our tips and tricks that have worked best for many of our short-haired customers.

If you're a visual learner, check out Milana's video below where she shows how to clip in, trim and layer her 220g Ash Blonde Luxy Hair extensions which she's had custom-toned to match her hair color perfectly.

    • Trim and/or layer your extensions. While it may seem like a waste to cut off hair that you've purchased, it is so important to achieving that natural flow so it's not obvious where your real hair ends and the extensions begin. We also recommend to have the extensions cut by an experienced hair stylist while the set is in your hair. It will also be helpful for you to number the wefts so you know exactly which weft goes where.
    • Pick the right color of hair extensions. Well, obviously! Ok, ok—the reason we have this point in here is mostly for the ladies out there who are rocking ombre or balayage hair. If you have multiple different shades in your hair, it's best to opt for a color that matches the ends of your hair. Even if you have a darker root color, the majority of the wefts will be applied at the crown of your head. So, if you have blonde ends and you're eyeing our Ombre Blonde shade because you also have dark roots, our Dirty Blonde shade may actually be a better fit. Not sure? Email our Support team at info@luxyhair.com. We're here to help.
    • Choose a heavy (weight) set. This is one of the most important tips. If you have short hair, you will need to opt for our heaviest 220 gram Classic set. Why? Because you will need the extra wefts and hair in this set to achieve a natural transition where your real hair ends and the extensions begin. If you opt for a set too light in weight, it may otherwise look stringy or unnatural looking when clipped in. Click here to learn more about choosing the right set of Luxies to blend in short hair.
    • Curl your extensions into your hair. This is a great hack—taking small sections of your extensions and combining them with a section from your own hair and curling them together will help blur that line differentiating your hair from the extensions. Here we have a great selection of tutorials on different techniques of curling your hair and extensions.

    Thick Hair

So, you have thick hair and your extensions aren't blending as well as you want them to be (we're secretly jealous that you have this problem!) We offer a thick and beautiful set that is our 220 gram Classic collection, but sometimes there are those ladies out there who have incredibly gorgeous and voluminous hair that may be too thick for the extensions we offer.

As always, we have solutions for this. Check out our suggestions below.

    • Wash your extensions. If you haven't already done this, we suggest to do so. Many of our customers find that washing the hair makes it fluff up and expand, which makes the set look and feel thicker, which may help with how it blends in. Curious to know the right way to wash your Luxies? Click here.
    • Clip in the wefts a little higher on your head. Or, simply spread them more apart in the spacing as this can help with blending.
    • Braid the bottom section of your hair prior to clipping in your larger wefts. One of the biggest giveaways that you are wearing hair extensions are those bottom layers of your own hair that show underneath the extensions. To avoid this, section the bottom of your hair (from the middle of your ear to ear), braid it, and pin it securely against your head.
    • Style your hair and the extensions with a curl after you've clipped them in. Try to take a piece of your own hair and a piece of hair from the extensions into each curl. Then you can even add some more thickness onto the bottom by taking a wide tooth comb and backcombing in small short sweeps throughout the ends where you feel thickness is needed.

    Thin Hair

Our fine-haired customers who reach out to us usually experience difficulty hiding the clips in their thin hair. Firstly, if you have fine and fragile hair, our 120 gram Classic set will be best for you.

Secondly, we've compiled these below steps which will significantly help in comfortably ensuring the wefts are virtually undetectable in your hair.

    • Make a solid base for the wefts. This means that you need to create something at the roots of your hair that will allow the clips to hold on to something without sliding or tugging throughout the day. We recommend to tease the hair at the root section.
    • Find your safe zone. This is the area on your head where the clips will not be seen. Usually, for fine hair, the safe zone is anywhere below the line of your eyebrows. Draw an imaginary circle around your head from one eyebrow to another; anywhere below that circle is where your wefts are going to be clipped in.
    • Position your wefts. Although there is a general sequence in which extensions should be clipped in, we all have different hair types, head sizes and shapes, so it won't always be consistent. Play around the wefts and find what positioning works best for you.
    • Choose your wefts. Sometimes, you won't need to use all the wefts, and that's absolutely okay. If you're struggling to find space on your head for all the wefts, there is a good chance that you don't need to use all of them. Figure out which sequence works with what wefts, and only use those.
    • Tease your crown. Once your extensions are clipped in, you will notice the difference right away in how much longer and thicker your hair feels. Naturally, it may be noticeable that you have more hair at the bottom than at the top of your head. To make it look more natural, tease your hair at the crown to add some volume to match the rest of your hair. This will give an overall harmonious, voluminous look.

    Lob/Blunt Hair Cut

If you have a lob or blunt hair cut, you may find it a bit tricky to blend in the extensions. Similar to the points mentioned in our short hair section, it's so important to opt for our heaviest 220 gram Classic set to ensure there is enough hair to bend in seamlessly with your hair cut.

We also have a few unique tricks for this type of hair cut, which we'll share below. Or, you can watch the following video.

    • Braid the bottom layer of your hair. One of the biggest giveaways that you are wearing hair extensions are those bottom layers of your own hair that show underneath the extensions. To avoid this, section the bottom of your hair (from the middle of your ear to ear), braid it, and pin it securely against your head.
      • This hides the short layers of your own hair, which will allow you to move freely and not have to constantly touch your hair to hide them.
      • It also removes some of the 'bluntness' of the haircut and allows for the wefts to be the 'base' of your hair, since you will be clipping the wefts directly over this pinned braid.
    • Stack your wefts. A really neat trick when wearing extensions, is to stack the wefts on top of each other. What this does is creates more volume, but you are still technically clipping in 1 weft onto your actual hair. This is a great way to hide some of that bluntness in your haircut as well.
    • Curl or wave your hair and extensions together. The proper way to do this is to take the end of your own hair along with the hair extensions, and curl it as one. That way when you brush it out, it flows in seamlessly into the extensions.

  • What is the purpose of the sample weft?

How do I know if it's the right match for me, if I can't open the main compartment of the box?

We understand that it can be hard determining your perfect Luxy color match from a computer screen. It looks like you're Chocolate Brown overall, but in some photos you think Chestnut Brown may be a better match. Wait—Dark Brown? That may also blend, too! Who knows, maybe you're Dirty Blonde after all.

Clip-in hair extensions are an investment for many people, and we want your purchase to be risk-free and anxiety-free. This is why we designed our packaging to be divided up into two compartments. One of the compartments holding your main set of extensions, and the other compartment holding your sample weft.

What is the purpose of the Luxy Hair sample weft?

    What is a sample weft?

We'll break down what the sample weft is in a few digestible points.

    • The sample weft is located in the bottom, smaller compartment of your Luxy box.
    • Your sample weft will be either a 2 or 3 clip weft.
    • This sample weft is part of the full head set. It is the 9th or 10th weft (depending on the weight you purchase) to your set.
    • Your sample weft should be used for color and texture comparison purposes only.

What do I do with the sample weft?

    • Please open this bottom compartment of the box first, prior to opening the main compartment.
    • Unravel the sample weft from it's hair netting.
    • Hold the card and weft up against your hair in natural lighting to determine if the shade is the right match for you.
    • If it's the right match, you may open the main compartment of the box and enjoy your Luxies!
    • If it's not a good match, please wrap the sample weft back in it's hair netting and place it back in the bottom compartment of the box. Then, email our support team at info@luxyhair.com to initiate a return or exchange (within 60 days of purchase).

What should I not do with the sample weft?

    • Please do not remove the sample weft from the golden security tie and the card it is attached to.
    • Please do not clip-in the weft to your hair, only hold it up against it. This is because hair extensions are a hygienic product, and since this weft is part of the full head set, if you do not wish to keep the set it will be sold to another customer.
    • Please do not tamper with the sample weft in any way. This includes dyeing, toning, cutting, curling, straightening, and washing.

What is your return and exchange policy?

We are happy to accept all packages back for a return or exchange within 60 days of purchase as long as the main compartment of the box has not been opened or tampered with, and the sample weft is still in its original condition.

Have more questions? We're here to help—please email our Support team at info@luxyhair.com. We respond to all emails within 24 hours.

  • Can I color, tone, or bleach my hair extensions?

So, you have a beautiful and unique hair color that doesn't quite match any of the shades we offer. No stress! Luxy Hair extensions are made of 100% remy human hair and can therefore be dyed a darker color or toned by a professional hair colorist.

Wow! Really? So wait, what does remy human hair mean?

Remy hair is considered to be the finest quality of human hair because the cuticles are kept intact and not stripped, like in most other non-remy hair extensions. Preserving the hairs’ cuticles and aligning them in a unidirectional fashion creates extensions that are completely natural in appearance. This process ensures that the hair remains super soft, shiny, silky and completely tangle-free throughout its lifetime.

Luxy Hair extensions use only the finest quality of remy human hair, which means that the hair has been carefully sorted after collecting from the hair donor to ensure all the cuticles are of the same length. It is by far the best quality of clip in human hair extensions on the market because of the care that is required and the time it takes to sort the hair so meticulously. Click here to see how and where our products are made.

Got it. Now, what's the best way to color my extensions?

Being super mindful and careful with how your hair extensions are dyed is very important to ensuring the quality of the set is preserved. Naturally, dyeing or toning hair extensions can alter the quality of the set slightly, however, we'll provide you with the most important do's and don't's of dyeing your extensions to ensure your set lives a long and healthy life.

    Do's

    • Test a one clip-weft first prior to dyeing the full set. This will help ensure you're satisfied with the results before moving on to the full set.
    • Always have a professional hair colorist work on your extensions. Ideally, someone who has had previous experience working with clip-in hair extensions.
    • Opt for a lighter set of extensions to dye darker, rather than a darker set of extensions to bleach lighter. Our extensions can withstand dark dye, but we never recommend to use bleach on the hair.
    • Use a deep conditioning treatment on the extensions post-dye, to ensure that any lost moisture and nourishment is added back into the hair.

    Don't's

    • Dye the entire set altogether – this can cause tangling within the set, and it also means that you have less control over the dye deposit. Dye one weft at a time so you have complete control over the outcome.
    • Use any bleach on the extensions. Bleaching is a damaging process that will alter the quality of your set.
    • Try to dye the set yourself at home. Taking the extra step to have a professional work on your extensions will be a worthwhile investment.

    Remember...

Since our Seamless extensions are made with silicone at the base to ensure that they are thin and flat, this material does not take to dye. If you dye your Seamless extensions, the silicone strip will remain its original colour after dyeing.

But if it's remy human hair, why can't I bleach it?

This is a valid question and one we get quite frequently. We're happy to answer it honestly.

We do not recommend bleaching your Luxies as they have already been dyed at our manufacture, and forcing bleach on hair that has already been dyed can be difficult. Finding alternatives like increasing the concentration of bleach or leaving it in longer to soak will only lead to damaged hair.

Also, keep in mind that the color may not come out as intended because of the existing hair dye. Any bleaching is done at the customer's own discretion and we cannot be held accountable if the results do not come out as intended.

Got to see it to believe it? Check out these customer transformations with their dyed/toned Luxies.

  • Should I wear my Luxies outside when it's windy or rainy?

We do not recommend to wear your Luxies outside when it is windy or rainy as harsh weather conditions can damage your Luxies - we call this "weather damage". Strong winds can cause your Luxies to tangle with your hair, and rain can cause your Luxies to become dry. As a kind reminder, your extensions should rarely come in contact with water - only when they are being washed every 15-20 wears, or when there is major product build up. We encourage you to be mindful of weather conditions when wearing your Luxies outside to ensure they have a long and healthy lifespan.

  • What temperature can Luxies be styled at?

We recommend to set your tool at 120C/250F, as anything higher runs the risk of damaging the hair. The reason why we recommend opting for a lower heat setting is because it will prolong the lifespan of your set. While our own hair may be able to handle a high heat setting, our hair is also constantly getting revitalized from the scalp, whereas hair extensions don’t get that sort of nutrition.

  • Where is the best way to store clip-in hair extensions?

For best appearance, clip-in hair extensions should be stored away when completely dry. The Luxy Hair box your extensions arrive in are specifically designed so you can reuse the box as a storage container for your Luxies.

Alternatively, you can also store your set in an airtight container like a shoe box. We recommend to store them away from direct sunlight, preferably in a dark place like a closet shelf, cabinet or dresser drawers. You can also watch our YouTube tutorial video on How To Store Clip-In Hair Extensions.

  • Can I swim or play sports with my hair extensions clipped in?

While other brands may advertise that it's ok to swim with hair extensions in, however, we at Luxy Hair do not advise you to wear your clip-in hair extensions while swimming or taking a shower. You can definitely wear them to the beach or by the pool, however, we do not recommend getting into the water with them (unless your hair is tied up and will not get wet).

Luxy Hair extensions are made of 100% remy human hair, so they won't get ruined if they get wet, however, when wet, they might get tangled with your own hair and cause damage to both your hair and the extensions.

We also don't advise that you have your hair extensions clipped in while playing sports, because like mentioned above, they might get tangled with your own hair and cause damage to both your hair and the extensions.

  • Can I sleep wearing Luxy Hair extensions?

We do not recommend to wear your clip-in hair extensions while sleeping, as this can cause excessive tangling with both your hair and the extensions which can potentially damage your set.

  • What products can be used on hair extensions?

When selecting products for your hair extensions, we recommend to choose high quality products specifically formulated for dry and damaged hair, as they will help keep the strands healthy and nourished. Heat protectant sprays, serums and any other leave-in conditioners or treatments are also highly beneficial and will prolong the lifespan of your Luxy Hair extensions. We also recommend using only sulfate-free and alcohol-free shampoos and conditioners on your set.

  • Can I use heat styling tools on my hair extensions?

Just like your own hair, Luxy Hair extensions can be straightened, blow-dried, styled and curled. In order to preserve and extend the lifespan of your Luxy Hair extensions, however, we suggest to always use a heat protectant spray prior to styling your set.

Additionally, we recommend to only use a low heat setting of 120C/250F, as anything higher runs the risk of damaging the hair. The reason why we recommend opting for a lower heat setting is because it will prolong the lifespan of your set. While our own hair may be able to handle a high heat setting, our hair is also constantly getting revitalized from the scalp, whereas hair extensions don't get that sort of nutrition.

If you're looking for some fun and easy heatless hairstyles, be sure to check out some on our YouTube channel here.

  • How do I wash my extensions, and how often should I wash them?

Luxy Hair extensions are made with 100% remy human hair, which means they can be washed and styled just like your own natural hair. Since Luxy Hair extensions do not receive natural oils from the scalp like natural hair does, however, they do not need to be washed as often, as they will not get oily or greasy like natural hair.

We recommend to only wash your Luxies every 15-20 wears or only when there is a lot of product build-up to the point where they become unmanageable to style. Watch the video below for full instructions on how to wash to properly wash your Luxies, or scroll down for step by step instructions.

    You will need...

    1. A sink which can be plugged

    2. Alcohol / sulfate-free shampoo

    3. Alcohol / sulfate-free deep conditioner

    5. Hair oil

    4. A wide tooth comb

Why alcohol / sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner?

Some hair products are loaded with alcohols and sulfates, which are extremely drying on the hair. Since hair extensions do not receive natural oils from the scalp, they are already dry by nature, and it is best to preserve moisture in the hair as much as possible. This will ensure that the extensions look healthy and luscious, as opposed to dry and dull. You can also use a shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for coloured treated hair or for hair extensions.

    Step 1: Brush your extensions

Have you ever taken a shower, emerged with wet, tangled hair and have to wrestle to detangle it? Brushing your hair before showering will prevent this, and hair extensions are no different. Before washing your extensions, give them a good brush with a wide tooth comb or paddle brush from bottom to top, gently removing any knots and tangles in the hair. Then, place each weft neatly on top of each other similar to when you first receive them, to keep them tangle free during the washing process.

    How To Wash Hair Extensions

    Step 2: Prepare your sink

Ensure your sink is squeaky clean to avoid existing dirt transferring to the extensions. Then, plug the drain and begin to fill it up with lukewarm water – we don’t want the water to be too hot or too cold.

Pump 2-3 dollops of shampoo into the water, and swish the product around in the water so it's nice and soapy.

    How To Wash Hair Extensions

    Step 3: Shampoo each weft

We recommend to wash your hair extensions one weft at a time (1-clip wefts can be collected into one bundle). This will ensure that each weft gets washed thoroughly without the set tangling. If you are short on time, however, you can bundle the extensions with an elastic and wash it all carefully in one go.

Hold the weft is one hand at the top, submerge it into the water, and gently wash the hair, working the shampoo in with light strokes. Be very careful to not tangle the hair. Once you have washed the weft with shampoo, set it aside neatly on a towel and repeat the same steps for the rest of the wefts.

    How To Wash Hair Extensions

Step 4: Deep condition each weft

Once all the wefts have been shampooed, it's time to condition them. This is a very important step, as it helps ensure that your extensions remain moisturized, nourished, and soft. We recommend to use a deep conditioner for this step, to really penetrate the hair shaft.

Take a generous amount of conditioner and apply onto each weft from top to bottom, massaging the product thoroughly into the hair.

In order for the product to really soak in and work its magic, we recommend to leave it on overnight. Bundle your extensions and carefully coil them and place them in a shower cap to leave overnight. This will help to seal in the moisture throughout the night.

How To Wash Your Hair Extensions

Step 5: Rinse out each weft

The next morning, thoroughly rinse out each weft, ensuring that there is no conditioner residue left on the hair. A common mistake is to only wash the hair halfway, leaving it with "the slip"–that slippery, soft feeling after conditioning. This is a no-no, as it actually leaves product on the hair, which weighs it down or causes it to look greasy when dry.

When washing out each weft, rinse it again with cold water, which will help close the cuticles of the hair to seal in the moisture and make the extensions more shiny. This is a great trick to try with your natural hair as well for that extra gloss and shine!

How To Wash Your Hair Extensions

Step 6: Lay each weft out to air dry

We recommend to air dry your hair extensions rather than use heat, as the hair does not get revitalized at the scalp, and using high heat can harm the extensions in the long run.

Before setting up your extensions to dry, be sure that the hair is completely wrung of water. Then, lay out all of your wefts separately on a towel on top of a flat surface. A trick to preventing any frizz once the hair is dry is to apply a small amount of hair oil to each weft to ensure the hair remains manageable and silky smooth.

How To Wash Your Hair Extensions

    Step 7: Comb each weft

We usually recommend not to comb through wet hair as it is more elastic and can break easily, however, in order to ensure that your extensions dry straight with little to no tangles, we recommend to gently brush through each weft with a wide tooth comb from bottom to top.

How to Wash Your Hair Extensions

And that’s it! Leave the wefts to dry, and come back to clean smooth, hair extensions, ready to clip into your hair.

    FAQ About Washing Hair Extensions

Do I need to wash my Luxy Hair extensions before I wear them?

No, Luxy Hair extensions are ready to wear straight out of the box! Hair extensions are a hygienic product and have been thoroughly sanitized at our factory. They are completely safe to wear right out of the box.

What products should I use on my Luxy Hair extensions?

We highly recommend to use natural, and organic hair products if possible. Make sure the hair products are sulfate free, alcohol free, and are designed for color treated hair or hair extensions. This will ensure that your hair extensions have a longer lifespan.

Do I need to wash my hair extensions after curling to make them straight again?

Unless the hair has a lot of hairspray or other product buildup, this is not needed. Instead, you can gently brush out the curls with a soft bristle brush from bottom to top, and use a hair straightener to straighten the extensions. Be sure to use a heat protectant spray prior to straightening, and to use a low to medium heat setting.

Do these hair extensions dry straight?

Luxy Hair extensions are of Chinese origin, therefore, should dry straight. Be sure to brush the extensions straight before air-drying overnight. Some sets could be potentially dry with a slight wave, however, can be styled with hot styling tools to achieve any desired look.

Why aren’t you washing the actual clips/wefts in this video?

The fabric base of the weft does not need to be washed, however, if you use a lot of product and feel that the fabric and clips also need to be washed, you can do so.

As always, if you have any other questions about how to wash your hair extensions, be sure to email us at info@luxyhair.com. We'll be happy to help.

  • When should hair extensions be worn?

One of the best things about clip-in hair extensions is that they can be worn whenever and wherever you want! Clip-in hair extensions are an excellent choice for any formal occasion or just for regular every-day use.

Wearing hair extensions can easily reduce every-day hair maintenance, enhance the look of your hair and improve the overall appearance, which in return will increase your confidence level. Need some ideas on how to style your Luxies? Check out our YouTube channel for some hair inspiration.

We do not, however, recommend that you wear clip-in hair extensions while swimming or taking a shower, as it may tangle in with your hair and cause damage to both your hair and your extensions.

  • How do I clip in Luxy Hair extensions, and how long does it take?

Clipping in your Luxy Hair extensions is a quick and easy process, and with a bit of practice can take you less than 10 minutes. That's right, in less than 10 minutes, you can go from short to long hair instantly, with no long-term commitment and no damage to your natural hair.

If you have ordered the 120g Luxies, your set will include 9 wefts of hair. If you have the 160g, Seamless 180g, or 220g Luxies, your set will include 10 wefts of hair. Watch the video below for step-by-step instructions on how to clip your Luxy Hair extensions in to ensure a seamless blend and ultimate comfort.

In the following video, we use the 160g Mocha Brown set.

How To Clip In Luxy Hair Extensions

    You will need...

    1. Your full set of Luxies

    2. A paddle brush

    3. A clip for your hair

    4. A mirror

All Luxy Hair extensions come with sturdy clips hand-sewn to the base of each weft. Each clip has a silicone grip underneath to prevent the weft from slipping. All you do is snap the clip open, and snap it back to close.

How To Clip In Luxy Hair Extensions

    Weft #1: Start with a 3-clip weft

Start off by brushing your own hair thoroughly using a soft paddle brush to get rid of any tangles. Separate a straight thin section of hair with your finger or a rattail comb at the nape of your neck and clip the rest of your hair away by with a hair clip.

How To Clip In Hair Extensions

Take your first 3-clip weft and brush it thoroughly from bottom to top with a paddle brush to remove any tangles.

How To Clip In Hair Extensions

Before clipping the weft in, hold it up against your head to be sure that the weft fits perfectly around your head. If your head is smaller, you may want to opt for a 2-clip weft here instead, but for the most part, the 3-clip weft should be ideal.

How To Clip In Hair Extensions

Find the centre of the weft and start by clipping the middle clip as close to the roots of your hair as possible. If you have thinner hair or your hair is very silky, you can tease the hair at the roots to create a more sturdy base for the weft. Snap the middle clip closed, then clip the left side closed and then the right.

How To Clip In Hair Extensions

And that's it for the first weft. You will apply this process for each weft.

Weft #2: Take the smaller (7") 4-clip weft

If you have a 160g, 180g, or 220g set, take your smaller 4-clip weft, which is 7 inches in length. If you have a 120g set, you will only have one 4-clip weft, which you can use now.

Separate a straight thin section of hair about an inch above the first clipped-in weft, and secure the rest of the hair out of the way with a hair clip.

Take the smaller 4 clip weft. Brush it from bottom to top to make sure there aren’t any tangles, and measure the weft against the sectioned portion to make sure it will fit perfectly on your head.

Find the centre of your head and clip in the middle two clips into the roots of your hair first, and then follow by clipping in the side clips. Make sure there are no bumps in the weft by slightly stretching the weft to the sides when you’re clipping in the middle clips.

How To Clip In Hair Extensions

Weft #3: Take the larger (8") 4-clip weft

Separate another straight, thin section of hair from ear to ear about an inch above the second clipped-in weft, and clip away the rest of the hair.

Take the largest 4-clip weft, brush it out, and measure it against your head to make sure it fits. Secure the middle two clips into the roots of the sectioned hair and clip in the side clips.

If you are using the 120g set, this step does not apply. Please move on to the next step.

How To Clip In Hair Extensions

Weft #4: Take the other 3-clip weft

At this point, you should still have one remaining 3-clip weft. This is going to clip in just below the crown of your head.

Separate a straight thin section of hair about two inches below the crown of your head and clip the rest of the hair away. Take the 3-clip weft, brush it out as usual and measure it against your head to make sure it will fit perfectly. Find the centre of your head and clip in the middle clip into the roots of your hair first, followed by the side clips. Now, all the large wefts at the back of your head have been clipped in, and only small ones should be left.

Weft #5 and #6: Take the two 2-clip wefts

These wefts clip into the sides of your head, to add volume and length, bringing everything together.

Separate a straight thin section of hair about two inches above the ear on the side going toward the back of your head, and clip the rest of the hair away. Take a 2-clip weft and secure it closest to your hairline first. Then secure the second clip closer to the back of your head.

Repeat the same process on the other side of your head.

    Wefts #7, #8, #9 and #10: Take the four 1-clip wefts

These wefts are to be used fore supplemental volume and length wherever needed – usually around the front of your face to seamlessly blend your entire look together. At this point, you may be happy with how the extensions look and may not need to use these wefts. It's all up to you.

To clip the 1-clip wefts in, separate a section of hair right above the 2 clip weft and clip the rest of the hair away. Brush out two 1-clip wefts and clip them in onto a small piece of hair as close to the roots as possible, above the 2 clip weft, anywhere that you feel you need more hair.

Repeat the same process on the other side. Bring all your hair to the front, brush your hair carefully, and check in the mirror to make sure that all the wefts are hidden, especially in the back.

And that’s it! Enjoy your new, long, volumized, beautiful hair.
