The Holiday season is a time for spending quality time with friends, family, and of course, co-workers! It’s no secret that the Luxy Hair team members are like a small, tight-knit family, so we like to throw a Holiday party every year to show our gratitude for everyone’s hard work and to celebrate one another. There’s lots of good food, good company, good attitudes, and of course, great hair—that’s what the Luxy Hair office party is all about!\n\n\nThis week, our Social Media Intern Marta shares her getting ready routine for the Luxy Hair office party, complete with her hair and makeup look. Check out the video below and scroll down for text instructions on how to recreate Marta’s glamorous holiday look. If you don’t have an office party to attend, no problem! Who says you can’t get glammed up for a family gathering or Holiday party with friends?\n\nFirst the makeup...\nSince Marta does not usually wear a lot of makeup, she has chosen a subdued bronze palette with a deep red lip. If you usually wear more makeup during the day, you can be more bold with your Holiday makeup, opting for a bright red lip or even glittery eyeshadow to play up the festivities.\n\nNow on to the hair\nAs mentioned before, Marta wears a mixture of Dirty Blonde and Ash Blonde Luxy Hair extensions for extra depth and dimension in her hair. If you would like to create this highlighted look yourself, simply wear your regular shade of Luxies and mix in a few wefts from the next shade lighter.\n\n[article handle="loose-waves"]\nStep 1\nSince Marta has short hair, she will be stacking her wefts together to thicken them up and ensure that the shorter pieces blend seamlessly with the longer pieces. If you have longer hair, you can skip this step, or double stack the wefts using two different colors to achieve that highlighted look we mentioned earlier.\nStep 2\nIn order to make sure that your Luxies blend seamlessly with any shorter pieces, we recommend curling your extensions with your hair as you go. Clip the wefts in, then curl your hair, combining shorter pieces with longer pieces so they blend together.\n\nStep 3\nMarta’s hairstyle will need to last all night, so here’s a little trick to make your curls last longer. Once you curl a section of hair, take each curl and pin it in place, holding that spiral shape and spray it with some hairspray. Once all your hair is curled, leave the curls pinned up for 10-15 minutes to set before unpinning, and watch your curls last all night without falling out! You can even pre-curl your extensions before the big night to speed up this process the day of.\nStep 4\n\nOnce you’ve clipped all your Luxies in, add a 1-clip weft at your temple. This will add a bit of hair to the braid we’re about to make for that extra thickness.\nStep 5\n\nTake the front section of your hair on one side and begin to French braid it toward the back of your head. Once you reach your ear, take all the hair and 3-strand braid it until the bottom. Then, tuck the braid in under your hair at the nape of your neck and secure with bobby pins.\n\n[article handle="how-to-do-a-french-braid-hair-tutorials-for-beginners"]\nStep 6\n\nTake another section of hair on the other side of your face and 3-strand braid the hair. You can either French braid this section or not—it’s up to you! Once the braid is complete, tuck it under your hair and secure with bobby pins.\n\nNow it’s time to get into your outfit for the night. Marta has chosen some statement earrings and a delicate necklace to keep all eyes on her hair, with a sparkly black dress to make her blonde hair pop.\n \nAnd that’s it! Getting dressed for a Holiday party has never been easier, and if you follow Marta’s simple steps to create this glamorous half updo, your hair will be party ready in no time.
