What does a typical day at Luxy look like for you?
A typical day consists of me logging on and going straight to emails. It’s how I interact with our customers! Whether I’m helping someone find their perfect color match or updating them on their exchange status, my main priority is being there for them!
Describe your WFH outfit
Currently it consists of various old, oversized tees. Picture a glow in the dark “I love Colorado” t-shirt from 2008. Very paperbag princess chic.
Why did you decide to pursue a career in this field?
I’ve always been a people person. Super cheesy, but I really do love making peoples’ day. My mom used to call me her little helper when I was young and it still resonates to this day.
Who is your hair inspo and why?
I really don’t have one at the moment. My hair is currently going through a restorative process so that means claw clips and rosemary oil for the next however many months.
What are your favourite emojis to use?
The white heart (🤍), happy cowboy (🤠), and the angel (😇)
What are 3 things you are grateful for and why?
- I’m grateful for my mom. She spared no sacrifice in raising my sister and I and I wouldn’t be who I am today if not for her.
- I’m grateful for my circle of friends, they are my rock and have been there for me through every stage of my life.
- I’m grateful for my boyfriend who has taught me what it truly means to love somebody.
What is your favourite snack?
Vanilla greek yogurt. Eating it slowly like you're in a yogurt commercial is key.
What was the last book that you read that made a huge impact on your life?
The little prince… p.s. Not just a children's book
What is your daily mantra or words to live by?
Amor Fati or love of one’s fate. I remind myself this when life gets a little tough. It reminds me to not only trust that everything will work out the way it’s meant to be, but also to be present. To embrace the mess of life with open arms. The good, the bad, the downright ugly - we only have what we have and then it’s gone. It reminds me to fully live in the moment, no matter what I’m feeling. Ultimately, it reminds me to embrace all that life has to offer.
What’s your horoscope sign and how would you describe yourself in 3 words?
I’m a scorpio to a T (and I love it).
What is the best part about working at Luxy?
Definitely the team sweaters. Currently living my best Ariana Granda circa 2018 life and living in oversized hoodies and t-shirts.
What is your favourite Luxy Hair Slack Channel?
Our ‘lockdown’ channel for sure. It’s a channel where we share the most random things. I appreciate having slack channels that are purely for the sake of conversing and learning about each other, it feels like I’m in a big group chat with my friends.
