Half-up hairstyle 1: lace braid half-do

This lace braid half-up hairstyle can seem tricky but with a little practice you’ll get the hang of it. This hairstyle works with long or short hair, however, we love popping in our Luxy Hair Extensions for some added volume and length. Mimi wears her 160g Ombre Blonde Luxy Hair extensions in this tutorial.

Step 1

Brush your hair thoroughly and divide your hair into two sections, one larger on the left side and one smaller on the right side.

Step 2

Grab the smaller section and create a lace braid by breaking the front pieces into a new section and begin with a regular three strand braid.

Step 3

Once you have braided the first three strands, grab the piece closest to the rest of the section and pull it into your braid, similar to a French braid. Braid in the new hair and repeat this step until the entire section is braided. Ensure that you are braiding your hair backwards!

Step 4

Do not keep braiding once the section is all braided in, instead fan out the hair carefully.

Step 5

Wrap your braid around the back of the head and secure it with bobby pins. Hide the end of the braid and the visible bobby pins under the rest of your hair.

Step 6 (Optional)

Apply heat protectant all over and curl the reminder of the hair away from the face. Hold the curl until it cools and repeat until all the hair is curled.

This simple look can be perfect for those days you wake up late for work. If you have a few extra minutes curl your hair for a put- together and elegant hairstyle.

Half-up hairstyle 3: French knot half-do hairstyle

If you have already mastered a french braid then this will be an absolute breeze for you! Add some Luxy Hair extensions for added volume and fullness to your hairstyle. Mimi uses her 160g Ombre Blonde Luxy Hair extensions.

Step 1

Brush your hair thoroughly!

Step 2

Bring two pieces from both your right and left side to the back of your head and tie them into your first knot.

Half-up hairstyle 4: Knotted Half-Up, Half- Down Hairstyle

This knotted half-up half down hairstyle looks especially beautiful with highlights due to the dimension of this intricate hairstyle. It’s works well with short, medium, or long hair.

Step 1

Grab a medium sized piece of your hair on the crown of your head, and twist it into a loop. Once you have done so, you will be able to pull the end through and create a full large knot. Pin the knot into place.

Step 2

Grab another medium section on the crown of your head and repeat the above step. Ensure your knot is flat to your head and secure it with bobby pins.

Step 3

Take the pieces from each knot and combine them together into a new knot. Secure with bobby pins. There you have it all done!

Who knew knotted hair could be so fabulous? This chic and unique look is great for any daytime event, especially if you want to spice up the same old half up hairstyle.

Half-up hairstyle 5: side fishtail braid hairstyle

The side fishtail braid is a casual yet flirty hairstyle that can be your go-to everyday look. You’ll need a curling wand, a small hair elastic, hairspray and of course your Luxy Hair extensions. Mimi wears her 160g Ombre Chestnut set in this tutorial.

Step 1

Start by brushing her hair through after clipping in your hair extensions. Run the curling iron through your hair to create large waves and set it with hairspray.

Step 2

Grab a large chunk of hair from the front as well as another section from the back, and begin fishtail braiding. In order to fishtail braid, use your index fingers to bring pieces of the section up and around the section and across to the other. Repeat this on both sides until you have your fishtail formed. Note that this will take some time, you won’t see it right away! Ensure it is a little loose by lightly fanning out the braid.

Step 3

You do not have to work the braid all the way down but, ensure it is secured at the end of the braid. If you have short bangs pin them into the braid for a clean and finished look.
